Manufacturer: Lupin
Pharmaceutical name: Lisinopril
Pack: 15 pills (10 mg)
Lipril is prescribed for conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, and diabetic nephropathy. It functions by relaxing blood vessels and preventing them from constricting. Its mechanism of action is based on its ability to inhibit the ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme), which helps avert the tightening and narrowing of the blood vessels.
When using Lipril, adhere to the instructions provided by your healthcare provider. Do not cease taking Lipril or modify your dosage unless directed by your healthcare provider. Lipril can be taken with or without food at the same time daily. Be sure to take it with a full glass of water. If you forget a dose, skip it if it's near the time for your next dose. Just take your next scheduled dose as usual, and do not double up on your Lipril dose. If you have any uncertainties, consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
Minor side effects of Lipril may include dizziness, a dry cough, mild stomach discomfort or pain, headaches, fatigue, diarrhea, and lightheadedness. These effects should be brief, but if they persist or cause concern, reach out to your healthcare provider. Rare side effects may consist of numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, ulcers in the tongue or mouth, skin rashes or other dermatological issues, infections, a sore throat, severe chills, easy bruising, and reduced urine output. If you notice any of these serious symptoms, consult your healthcare provider immediately.
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction. Common symptoms of such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Lipril may not be appropriate for every patient. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medications (whether prescription or over-the-counter), taking herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health concerns.
The appropriate dosage and prescription typically depend on the individual patient and the specific condition being treated. Do not change your dosage without your healthcare provider's approval. This medication should only be used as prescribed and instructed.
